Re: Okay, but...

There is NO "Left Wing Conspiracy," in the sense of an organized, conscious, media-wide effort to promote leftism, and I have never said there was one. What there is is a left wing slant in the views of almost everyone working in the media, which slants what they do and what they write.

The slant is real, documented in many places. The book "Bias" is one of the best. The author also points out that it is not a "conspiracy," but a world view that is the problem. What is amazing is when he documents that most of the media people you talk to are honestly convinced that they are "middle of the road," in spite of agreeing with almost all liberal positions and disagreeing with almost all the conservative ones.

That gag about the media being owned by corporations or individual capitalists, so they must be conservative, is getting a bit old. If you somehow have the idea that all corporations are run by conservatives, you might want to take another look. This might be a good place to start. And I dare say Ted Turner accounts for a lot more than 1 percent of our media exposure.

In any case, since objective observation of the mainstream media actually shows it to be leftward leaning, it's obvious that who owns the outfits isn't really relevant. You might as well say that all Hollywood stars are conservative simply because they work for large corporations and conglomerates.
