No, my friend, we've never tried it "your way," nor can you now lay 911 on the doorstep of the Clinton presidency.

You make the very flight of logic on which the chickenhawks depend - that there is somehow a connection between the perpertrators of 911 - who are still unidentified, btw - and Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein.

Just as a historical note, it was not President William Jefferson Clinton who had the chance to oust Saddam Hussein, but demurred. No, it was President George Herbert Walker Bush who sent our boys home when our armor was parked on the road to Baghdad, with no opposition in sight, and the Iraqis surrendering in their thousands.

Trying to make political hay out of the current mess is a good idea only for those who have an incomplete view of the history surrounding it. Suggesting that the United States has ever had a foreign or domestic policy based on opposition to war shows that you clearly fall into this catergory.
