Interesting admission

<If there were no US and we suddenly had to takecare of ourselves you can bet we'd be ramping up production of Tornados, Mirages etc, etc, not to mention UK + France's nuclear capabilities.

So you're admitting what I've been saying for some time - that Europe is depending on the US for its own protection. With the end of the Cold War, I'd like to see a justification for the US maintaining some 100,000 military personnel in Europe. You're able to get away with spending so little on your own defense because you've grown used to us spending tens of billions of dollars on your defense.

At the very least, I see no justification for the US to maintain some 70,000 personnel in ingrate "Axis of Weasels" nations like Germany. If there's a valid need for our personnel in Europe, why not move them to countries like Poland or other countries?

In the end, if there's a threat to European security, then it's Europe's responsibility to address that threat, not ours. If there's no threat to Europe's security, then there's no need for us to maintain so many personnel there.

Right now, much of "Old Europe" comes across as the grown up child who still lives at home with his parents, complaining all the while about not getting enough freebies to meet his "needs."
