I humbly disagree. The choice is not binary. It's closer to:
"Work hard, or work smart, or both (or else)."
Capitalism is about opportunity, not slavery. The "market" is not an evil force, it's the will of the community.
Find something that you like doing, and that is valued by a sufficiently large section of the community, and capitalism is your best buddy.
