Look, I suppose its possible that some buddies of this lawyer showed up with preprinted T-shirts spontaneously two days after the incident.
Maybe. There's an important difference in the example you gave.
It's worth noting that a school board meeting takes place at a fixed time and place known to the entire community (if they're paying attention), and if people independently decide they are going to go, they do, and if suddenly a whole lot of people are there, a large gathering can easily be truly spontaneous.
A protest at a mall where 100 people show up at a specific time and place has to be organized by definition, otherwise protestors would just dribble in and out a few at a time all week long. I'm not saying it was organized by A.N.S.W.E.R. or any of those other subversives who have organized the large protests, but it was definitely a professional job by someone who knows how to collect a lot of people in one place in a short time.
A lot of these "spontaneous" events are not nearly as random as they are advertised.
