I could get 100 teenagers to show up at a mall if I had 200 phone numbers and I could promise them free donuts. And that's just me on my own. It would take a while, though.
But: I call 5 people. They call 5 people, who all call 5 people... It's not difficult for me to imagine Guilderland suburbanites applying PTO phone chain methods to get a group of grown-ups to the mall at a specific time on a specific day.
Until you get past this idea that any group speaking in opposition to the administration's policies is somehow being manipulated by a group of shadow professional agitators, you will not understand the opposition. On the other hand, I guess it would be easier to believe that the people whose position differs from yours are puppets, because then you don't have to take them seriously.
