My point is not that such acts can be "cured" as they are occuring by negotiation, education, acceptance, etc.
It's a much longer term task than that, something that many on the right don't seem to ber able to grasp.
Immediate problems demand immediate solutions, but they need long term solutions to prevent their recurrence.
(and no, I don't think Saddam was the kind of immediate problem that demanded the immediate solution now being carried out)
