And your every post provides answers to problems, Tom? Come on, it was an observation, not a proposal.
But if you insist (and plesae keep in mind that I do not have any degrees in international diplomacy, nor have I won any peace prizes):
International co-operation to work towards eliminating illegal arms trading (and maybe eventually all arms trading).
Same to eliminating funding via the international money system of terrorists and oppressors, even if they do help make big corporations rich.
An honest effort by the US to get the UN functioning closer to it's original goals, rather than putting up blockades, refusing to pay dues, and denigrating the effectiveness of the organization at every turn. Sure the UN is not perfect, but it (or some other international body) is absolutely necessary for world proseperity and peace. Unless of course those things are simply imposed by the US.
A fully co-operative international effort to root out and/or stifle terrorist organizations, even if they sometimes serve the interests of large contries and/or corporations.
No matter what you or GWB or anyone else says, the US cannot do it all by itself. Trying to do so will only breed international schisms and further resentment of the sole world superpower. Being the most powerful carries a great deal of responsibility, and that doesn't mean enforcing your views on the rest of the world. It means working your butt off to develop a functioning and effective international body to work towards the goals of peace and prosperity, not just throwing up your hands and saying "oh, piffle, you are a bunch of idiots!" every time someone disagress with you.
In case you hadn't noticed, the US does not have a great deal of respect from the rest of the world, and you can never force someone to respect you, only to fear you.
And don't say "who cares about the respect of the rest of the world", because even though the US has the biggest single economy in the world, it still only makes up less than 1/4 of the world GDP (1998, US 7.3 trillion vs world 33.7 trillion, according to this site.
