Education and understanding and acceptance go both ways, Tom. I never said it had to be all on your shoulders, never said that it was the radicals that had to be educated.
Radicals are made, not born, and if the "radical factories" can be reformed, the output will slow and maybe stop.
Think about what you said:
"They flew planes full of men, women, and children into office buildings containing men and women sitting at their desks with their morning coffee. What do these people have to teach me?"
Change "planes full of men and women" into "missiles and bombs full of explosives" and you'd have Baghdad. What have the people of Baghdad learned from the US lately?''
I can guarantee that radicalism will never, ever be eliminated by use of force. (and yes, I know what my guarantee is worth to you)
"Unless the leadership changes, nothing will change."
Unless the people can feel they have some kind of power to determine their fate, the leadership will not change - much of this leadership gives their people the only hope they can see for change, but violence really isn't the only way. In fact, it's 180 degrees off.
