<If you want to talk about per capita expenditure on charity, we are not even in the running. If you want to talk about emphasis on education of our citizen's children, care for our elderly, numbers of homeless, poor, sick... well you get the idea.
This is silly. Measuring charity by "per capita" is facetious at best. Do you think the recipients of our billions of dollars (never mind the U.S. technology, skills and science that feeds hundreds of millions and supports economies across the planet), give a rat's rump that Denmark's fraction of those billions is a larger per capita amount? (Denmark is on the top of the per capita foreign aid list).
With the exception of Japan, our giving is at least double that of any other nation.
And as for education, the elderly, homeless, etc. we do a damn good job on all of these, considering a population greater than that of Britain, France and Germany combined, and one considerably less homogenous and more open to poor immigrants than most other advanced countries. Only 7 percent of the population of Denmark is not Danish, and they've tightened immigration. Hell, we have almost twice as many illegal immigrants in America as the entire population of Denmark.
Have you examined why you feel a reflexive need to put the U.S. in a bad light?

How about not twisting definitions to make us look bad?
