So authoritative, so certain that the NEO hazard simply HAS to be small enough so that it presents no threat no your Mars fantasies, so fundamentally morally warped, and finally so just plain dumb...

Maybe the impact of 75 meter objects used to present around 1% of the threat, (of course, scale is important here - 1% of what? - the death of every person on the planet?), but that is not likely to be true now.

For the simple fact is that any number of folks on this planet are armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons, and any of these "small" impacts may possibly trigger an "exhange" - particularly among the newly armed nations -

So let's move that number to %2, shall we?
