I believe that the hopscotch method would be the best way to go and hopefully we'll have a faster way to travel, although, I don't believe we'll ever achieve faster than C travel. By sending probes, as we are now, we would be better able to detect habitable planets to inhabit. How would we survive, one of our 'tribes' survive if they had to change along the way only to find that they would have to change yet again in order to survive on another 'compatible' planet? My biggest hope is that we won't loose our humanity on our way and that we'll always use tools as a means, but not to replace.
