Re: Yes & NO

Get back to work on the Mars radiation problem, Mark - it's not goinog to be wished away, and there's no way to avoid it...

Rothenberg has data a whole lot more up to date than what's on the internet - even when internet data comes from reputable sites it is still old -

I was wondering why NASA is going to fly GENESIS to L-2... then I remembered that NASA's advanced programs folks made a presentation at the AAS Goddard Symposium on setting up a man tended telescope at L-2 -

Rothenberg wouldn't have used those words unless he had to - why would he alienate and upset the manned Mars folks un-necessarily?

You're right about the danger of 75 meter class impactors, and that's not the problem - though well placed Tunguska sized blasts have killed a lot of people before.

It's the 300 meter class that having been taking out continents on a fairly regular basis over the last 5,000 years or so -

I agree manned Moon technologies can be used for manned Mars flight - but with manned Mars flight (and with colonization) we have that nasty radiation problem to deal with -

Looking for solutions,
and not insults,
