We are due statistically speaking. However that's for the entire Earth which means our expected impactor only has a 10% probability of striking a densely popul;ated area (suburbs, midwest farms & cities as opposed to poles, siberia, most of the west and Africa). Divide 100 by 0.1 to get the 1000 year interval.
