Bush on Space so far

Well I like him. I have some serious problems with NASA currently:

#1. mismanagement of unmanned program via FBC
#2. near criminal waste of tax dollars in the manned space program
#3. lack of vision and usefulness in unmanned space program

The first step he is doing is drastically overhauling the space program with a bean counter Sean O'Keefe.

I hope he can take care of the way waste and mismanagement is eating NASA alive(#1, #3).

That leaves #2. Ever since beagle I have gotten critical of NASA and the vision. The excitement just isn't there. Wheres the microscope?! what does NASA do instead of beagle? two rovers that are exactly the same. So much science to do and they send exactly the same rovers there :-(. They wanta to send an orbiter to europa? damn, we've had galileo orbiting and taking pictures, lets go the next step and bundle in a lander then you get my concern! lets get things done!!! with as long as it takes to get there, we are looking as so man step #1 was galileo,2, orbiter, 3, lander, 4 submarine, damn I am not going to live that long! lets conbine 2 and 3, maybe even try for four. OR put things on hold until we have technology to detenim ethe icecap thickness and get 'dedicated orbiter', then submersible.

Pluto?! its a dirty iceball! Its all the way to the outer reaches of the solar system! I just do not care about the atmosphere of a dirty iceball in the outer reaches of space. Its not even a planet in my opinion, does anyone remember? I was definitly one arguing for it to be named a large KBO.

heres what I want to see as far as vision

#1 RLV that cuts launch by factor of ten or higher.
#2 scramjet success
#3 satelite network above mars for extensive mission once #1 is acheived. Heck it doesn't have to be mars, lets just pick a planet and go with it! It will be cheaper and more rewarding than doing everything slowly in peacemeal.
#4 manned mission to mars (and I only say mars becasue thats what we are closest to, if something happens and the moon becomes a better option I don't care I will go for a moon base)

overall I am not shedding any tears over the stop orders on europa and pluto missions. I just want to see us get something really interesting done and the first step is cutting lauch costs.
