I think you may be missing the point here. The mythical planet, referenced to in ancient text, was a real planet in their culture. Now how could that be? Was it mass hallucination or in fact real? You may have little confidence in your early predecessors by suggesting they couldn't get simple matters straight. If you get the gist of this enigma you'll see there is a common theme of others of advanced technology who were once here. For example, the Greek Gods and those who built the pyramids were certainly out of character of the local inhabitants’ handy work.
If one disregards history one is likely doomed to repeat the trials and tribulations once learned or at least experienced.
I understand a team actively looking for this back in ‘83 sighted this planet. It was broadcast as a new discovery back then yet there were and still are no photos available. Then the search suddenly and inexplicably ended. Why?
There is a consistent theme in other cultures legends and lore about this traveling comet. The problem is that the period of this re-occurring traveling planet is so long that everyone is doesn't believe those who have seen it in the past. But that is no excuse for those who have spotted this with their instruments to keep it from the public. The Gov. and associated agencies desperately need the unwavering trust and gullibility of the public and the public doesn't disappoint.
