Hi Raoul,
The coriolis force is fine as far as it goes..which is not very far. Like all science it can survive a comprehensive 'update'.
I was unaware of Petit but then again I am not a Magnetohydrodynamicist and I have not met any "Ummits". ;-)
Nothing or an ending to everything is easy to believe in...since it doesn't exist and cannot be defined. The same non-existence which supposedly occured prior to the existence of everything.
As for my vortex whateveritizzes...they are everywhere:

Wait until this above link fully loads and you will see the vortices in motion and exhibiting polarity.
Also they are...
overe here...
and here too!
In fact staight lines are non-existent. In a vortical galaxy moving vortically through space which is comprised of energy also moving in vortical motions - straight lines are mere illusions of an uneducated mind... ;-)
Defining energy and the substance of the universe is not a task for the faint of heart.
As for your suggestion I make comics to explain what a vortex is...Grmphhhh...I think I shall not be inviting you to attend the Nobel presentation ;-)
Yes what is "fair" in a relative and infinite, eternal universe?
