Yeap You're Factless (and heartless too)
It continually astounds me the way you value the lives of others in relation to your obsessive escapist compulsion of manned Mars flight.

In point of fact, a Moon based system provides about 6 months earlier waring of approaching dinosaur-killer class comets than any other orbital system. Since this is the type of object which leads to extinctions, the value of the additional 6 months time is essentially close to infinite in dollar terms.
The optical, computational, transmission and power requirements have all been examined, and examined in depth for both Moon based as well as orbital based systems. Moon based systems win.
