I have seen these over my head for as long as I can remember, and that goes back to the 1940s. There is nothing mysterious about it. It is just the contrails from commercial and military aircraft doing their jobs. Depending on the temperature conditions and altitude there will be a lot a little or none at all. Believe me there is nothing unusual about it.
