Re: Yeh, Try Being A Scientist.

So you post private correspondences in a public form? Last time I checked Nick has an email address and I'm sure he is as nice there as here... Anyway, I have as much right to reply to you as you have to have started the thread.

If saying you have an "ax to grind" is name calling then I'm real nasty...and just so upset!

Kettle Pot Black on amateur scientists with little knowledge trying to foisting their options here!

If your are so concerned what is in Alex's CV ask him and while you are at it post your own here.

BTW, there are a number of people with very long and impressive CVs in the Mars Society I don't hang them here to hide behind...

And the MDRS has had almost half a season go by and you have only posted our problems with GreenHab, gray water and feces...why? The Medical emergency experiments not interesting? The repair of GreenHab not interesting? Us doing science not interesting? And finally, what part of Star Trek and Mars Society is the same other than you disparage both...

The only fantasy we have as an organization is a goal of the exploration and maybe someday the colonization of Mars. There are lots of people who have individual goals/fantasies, but exploration is our main goal... Many engineers and scientist have the same goal in part or whole ... some of them are members of TMS... And our fantasy is being acted on with each and every spacecraft that reaches Mars and does science there.

I would also point out Science Fiction and Star Trek itself have inspired people to become scientist and engineers. We in the Mars Society do public outreach to hopefully also inspire new students of the sciences.
