In the 80’s, I would add a $2 can of R-12 to my car about once a year and my AC was ice cold. After they made it so I couldn’t buy R-12 anymore, I tried getting my leak fixed. After 2 years and a couple of thousand dollars, my AC still didn’t hold freon.
So a $2 fix that work was replaced by a $2000 that didn't. It sucked.
