<And while you like to moan and point fingers at Democrats you fail to take into account that pork spending by the Republican controlled congress over the last 6 years has increased almost 300%. This despite the tough budget deal that Democratic President Clinton signed and stuck to which brought our nation from a $300B annual deficit to a $300B annual surplus.
I'd love to see the source of this 300 percent number.
And no one appreciated more than I did Clinton's constant lobbying (day in and day out) of Congress to cut spending programs, reduce pork spending, and decrease the size of the Federal budget.
Oh, you missed that?
Maybe you saw instead a president dragged kicking and screaming, his back bleeding from the flails of the polls, into welfare reform and other conservative spending reductions. Now he's getting credit for the sun coming up. I don't see anyone giving him credit for the economic downturn which started in the spring of 2000, largely instigated by the Clinton government's attempt to annihilate Microsoft.
BTW, nice to see you back in the ring!
