"That Bush is just too stupid to be shrewd"

I'll admit I cringe every time eI hear him speak, but to look at his policies and tactics, makes me depressed that he won't likely get elected for two terms. But I think the low expectations help him. . . More on that later.

#1. I suspected all along that the the tax cut was intentionally 'too much'. Am I glad it was? Yes! Congress faces a decision: real in pork, or dip into social security, a political no no right now. By creating a deficit congress now look at the numbers and says "what is essential?" and works from there. I like it, that good, it gets rid of the crap.

#2. I now suspect his plan to let people invest part of social security is a good excuse to start privatizing it, and getting it out of government hands. When you look at the Dow, the whole thing, from its start, it goes up, no matter what it goes up. If you invested in the whole thing as it were a mutual fund then you come out ahead. Basically all social security would do is 'force' you to save money for retirement, which is all it really needs to do.

so 'yes' to draining the federal budget, 'yes' to getting the governments hands off social security. 'YES' to smaller government and more money for you to spend on your own.
Bush is turning out to be a pretty good pres. No fundamentalist fire bombings, no holding up airports while getting a 200$ haircuts. He might be taking long vacation but it really isn't anything any other president hasn't done, they just didn't 'refer' to it as a 'vacation'. The stem cell decision seemed to please most everyone in the middle with fringes going against it. .
By turning his back on Kyoto he forced them to make its rules 'non-binding' (in order to get japan to sign) and thus removing its teeth. He's doing good job, anyone have any complaints?
