Re: Fine for the young, supple minds...

< ...but what about those of us with old, feeble memories and sleep deficits?

hey look I have my share of sleep deficits an d never did I have a good memory.

I have PINs and ID #s and phone #s, and every time I turn around someone wants my SSN, or the SSN of one of my kids. I have over half a dozen passwords to remember. How many people use their birthdate as one of their PINs or their mom's maiden name as a PW? (Not me!!) This doesn't make me feel more secure, but less! If my memory fails me, I can't get cash, email, phone access, and soon, into my office! AAAAHHHH!!

I don't know how to describe how I do it. . . . in fact I won't because that would be insecure. . . best I can say is I take on all the different things gradually so my mind aha s time to remember them.

On the other hand, I have a little debit card for the photocopy machines at the university library. It's a cheap little thing that has to be polished on my jeans everytime I use it (or it tells me there's no money, the lying thing). My name isn't attached to it, so I guard it with my life: those undergraduates stalk us grad students for our debit cards, you know. ;)

Welcome to the future: it's already here.

How's college treatin' ya?

college so far is pretty good, though it will be very busy this year. The max credits they allow is 18, and I am taking 22 (had to get provost permission). and they are all tough courses except for music appreciation and weight lifting. CHEM, University Physics (they got a guy from MIT to teach it!!!), C++ (ok, hard for everyone else except for me) Linear Algebra. oh yeagh and I tried to get a previous diving course I took years ago to count for credit but instead they let me take the next level of it for credit. . . so I did that over the summer and got the guy they do it through to report me as having taken it during the fall.

All I hear from Beth is that she wants my recipe for 3-cheese noodle casserole.

what? a college student not asking for loads of money to be sent?! Thats shocking.
