There seems to be a sliding scale for "liberal"
It has amused me greatly over the years to listen to how "liberal" is defined, especially by liberals. No matter how extreme their views, most that I've heard describe themselves as "moderate" or "centrists". Even those that describe themselves as liberal seldom use the term to describe others unless they hold every view in common. "I don't consider her liberal because..." However, many are quick to say that anyone to the right of them is an extremist conservative.
