I didn't say _you_ called me a bigot, racist, homophobe, warmonger, Nazi, etc. but others have for no more reason than I disagreed with them. You see, demonization isn't exactly a one-way street. I've lost count of the times I've been called a Nazi by some liberal who, if he/she had any sense at all, wouldn't dare call me that to my face. You want to talk about demonization, calling someone a Nazi (and I know you didn't do it) is about as bad a case of demonization as you'll find. Well, I'm not going to put up with that crap from anyone nor am I going to hold my opinions when I choose to engage in debate.

The battlefield of ideas can be a spirited place. Spirited debate is a sign of strength of your convictions and of the freedom in our society. Disagreement is not a sign of nontolerance - it's just people expressing an different opinion. Those lacking the courage of their convictions will slink away from the fight, often firing a snotgram as they go, as witnessed recently on the Flame board. Personally, I see that as an act of cowardliness but then, that's just my opinion.
