and I'll spit them right back in your face. Show me where I'm demonizing those to the left of my views. I may disagree with them, sometimes vehemently, but I don't consider then evil, just uninformed and misguided in most cases.
So many on the left like to spout platitudes about diversity but they seldom tolerate diversity of opinion. I've been called a bigot, racist, homophobe, and worse because I dared to disagree with a liberal's opinion. Quite frankly, I'm not going to put up with that crap for a minute. Some people talk about celebrating diversity - I live it. My wife, stepsons, and daugher-in-law are all Asian immigrants, as are dozens of my friends. My wife and I spent thousands making our home wheelchair accessible so a handicapped black friend of ours could visit. Talk is cheap - only action counts.
On a related note about diversity of opinion, many Republicans support abortion. One of them is our current Secretary of State. He was a featured speaker at the Republican convention last year and also in 1996. How many anti-abortion speakers have been featured at DNC conventions recently? Which side allows a diversity of opinion on these issues and which doesn't? Which side of the political spectrum is attacking free speech via "PC" speech codes? You may hear some conservatives complain about ignorant peace protestors but none I know are threatening disciplinary action against them for holding a disagreeable position.
