Still, in E''s, 'Yes and no' post to this thread I wholeheartedly agree that if women are willing to fight for their country with honor and commitment, then by all means, make it so.

As for: as for grooming, ok they aren't 'fragil things', why not treat them the same in bootcamp and cut their hair just as short? we can't have it getting caught in things or giving something good for the enemy to grab a hold of in an engagement.

I agree there too! My husband met me when I sported the 'power cut' of the 80's. The humidity here helped in my decision to cut it that short and I would have gone to bald if I could, but I didn't want to be associated with a 'skin head'. :) It was VERY short, yet, my husband asked me out again. It wasn't until we were married and I offered to cut it in that style again that he sounded a firm, "NO!" lol

There is something to be said for short to nil hair... one less thing to worry about.
