He relies upon the use of force, then speaks out against it.
Why did he exile himself to India, and come to Europe and America to speak out? Because these are free societies, a freedom won, protected and defended by brute, physical force, as opposed to the non-free Tibet he fled.
Frankly, the Dalai Lama is a hypocrite, and a fool. If he truly believed in non-violence at all costs, he'd be trying to speak his mind from his home in Tibet. Let's see how well that works.
As for the Nobel Peace Prize, well, that means very little. It's mostly a politically correct popularity contest, and has even been given to terrorists.
