If peace and a Palistinian state comes it stands to reason that USA stock would go up with the moderate Islamics all over the Mid East region.

Do the extremists want peace, a state and the relaxed tensions that go with it? I doubt it. Are the Palistinian terrorist factions of one mind with the other groups that promote worldwide Jihad? I think so.

It seems more and more obvious that nothing is going to happen until Arafat is gone and a leader emerges that speaks for the moderates and against the terror factions. I have no idea how such a guy would live long enough to assume power.

You are exactly right regarding the passive resistance. Send in 10,000 unarmed Palistinians against the Israeli army and they would have their way in 90 days. This is true now and it would have been true for the last 20 years.
