FYI, at the same time the Jews were run out of Spain, The Muslim's were expelled, pushed down first to Granada in Andalusia, and then to north Africa.

For a good visual on Spanish brutality check out the art work by Le moyne on his travels with Pedro D'Avilla. Conversions to Christianity were commonly effected by the forced choice of either becoming Christian or having your nose cut off.
