Ted Kennedy's legacy

Ol' Teddie during his drinking years led a major change to the immigration laws in the 80s. One particular "reform" really frosts me. A family immigrates here, fine. Then they bring over the grandparents. Guess what? Yup, the grandparents get full social security benefits. Now my wife, a US citizen, by herself does not qualify for full SS benefits (did not work enough quarters at high enough wages) at 65 or whatever. Go figure.
