The kids I heard about who cherry-bombed mailboxes* lit the bombs and blew up the mailboxes when no one was around. They never set it up to blow up in somebody's face. Not sure how you could do that anyway. And yeah, it was wrong.

*Not me. I was a nice boy, and besides loud noises made me nervous.
