That issue has been settled.

I think that one's over. Much like the 2000 Presidential election, the Supreme Court has ruled.

(By the way, there was a problem at the Supreme Court a while back. Thomas was sneezing and sneezing and sneezing, disrupting everything in his office. When someone asked him if he had a cold, he replied, "No, Scalia does!")

If there were a Right to have these weapons, the gun advocates wouldn't need to worry about what laws were passed. They'd be unconstitutional.

If the Second Amendment didn't mean "well regulated militia", people could own anything called an "arm".

Ergo, no Right.

For some reason the same people who are so defensive about the Supreme Court and the 2000 elections, saying in effect "get over it", complain about the Supreme Court and the 2nd Amendment. Go figure.

And, the Court could re-decide. But for now, it's settled.
