There used to be a strong committment among the joint chiefs to resist any engagements that had the potential to turn into Viet Nams. It has been fading, lately. I'm glad to see some of it is left.

If we get into a mind-set where the chiefs approve of every war the commander likes, then we are in deep trouble.
