Re: Am I misunderstanding?

What I'm implying is certainly not "not to resist". My uncle did a little bit of that and many citizens did a little bit too: it could be in the form of courier from one network to the other or bringing food to jews who are hiding in a house or to persons searched by the Germans.
What I'm implying is that the minute the Germans knew there were weapons at someone's house, they would rush to take him into custody and execute him. During occupation it was extremely difficult to hide weapons from the occupants. So, most of the occasional resisitants certainly were never told where the weapond were (for fear of revealing this under torture, if they got cought). Of course, the real resistance had weapons, bombs, but very well hidden.
But, most importantly, being in the resistance meant waiting (sometimes a long time) for instructions (given through encoded messages from the BBC) to act at a specific moment, to be as efficient as possible, at the right place and the right moment.
