Re: National Debt Road Trip, updated

It's not the elite I worry about. They are predictable, they will do whatever it takes to protect themselves, and will only let the rest of us perish if they feel it is absolutely necessary to cover their ass. They will act in their own best interest, so you can tell what they'll do next.

The ones I'm really concerned about are their sycophants, the wannabees, the ones that were offered a seat on the lifeboat if they played the game and didn't cause any trouble. Haven't you noticed they are the ones doing most of the whining? The real movers and shakers keep a vey low profile.

The lackeys are just now starting to realize what's happening, the ship is sinking and they're locked in second class. They are barely sharp enough to know they've been screwed, but they don't dare admit they've mostly brought it on themselves by voting against their own interests on the basis of a promise of upward social mobility that just couldn't be delivered. They backed the wrong side, and now they have been left behind. And they are pissed, not at those who abandoned them, but at those they are stuck with.
