Shame

I see you're falling into your old pattern of mounting a personal attack instead of adressing the relevant facts. That reflects poorly on you, not me, and in addition, does not lend credence to your argument.

Again, I remind you that it was Gen. Arnold who reported the F-15's speed at 1200 mph during their flight to NYC. I've seen no mention of the kind of weapons the Eagles were armed with that day. (Otis took As and Bs to Oshkosh, summer 2001). Even with a couple of missiles, 1200 mph seems attainable, at altitude. Take it up with Gen. Arnold, if you like.

You're clinging desperately to the NORDO issue, but it's not that critical. Within 5 minutes of the NORDO report, two stews were on the phone reporting a hijack.

Again, all summer long in 2001, and earlier, we had a whole raft of officials here and abroad warning us about domestic terrorism. I've covered this ground already, but the argument that nobody was looking in that "direction" is a crock. Recall the statements of the IOC officials. Recall the hijacked DC-10 here and the Eiffel Tower caper in France. Recall the 1994 Time magazine article about Secret Service concerns. Recall the Minneapolis FBI agents. Recall the QF-4 being crashed into the containment dome section. Recall Genoa.

For the first three days after 911, the media were reporting that no fighters were scrambled at all. They could have gotten such (dis)information only from the Air Force itself. Then, after Dan Rather revealed that "CBS has learned..." that fighters were scrambled, JCS chief Gen. Meyers claimed they didn't get airborne until 9:03, rather than the 8:52 now being used.

It's readily apparent to anyone with their eyes wide open, not shut, that there have been repeated lies concerning this whole sad affair. The insult is to the American people.

As far as shame goes...I guess we'll see, won't we?
