I have a little trouble with the term "working class." I really want to know at what salary level cutoff the stuff I do isn't "work" any more, since I would like to get to that point.
"Blue collar" and "white collar" isn't that accurate in our modern world, but at least doesn't contain the subtle class-warfare implication that the higher salaried people aren't really "working" for their money*. There are damn few rich nowadays who just sit around and clip coupons for their money. Even Bill Gates, although he ain't exactly lifting boxes for a living, busts his chops every day.
*And yes, I know perfectly well that people here aren't using the term with this agenda in mind, I'm just pointing out something that's been bothering me for a while, particularly in political speeches.
