What did Friedman and Hayek have to do with it? Were you just name- dropping Nobels to counteract Krugman's, or were you just trying to legitimize Rosenthal's opinions? After all, he is just some first-year law student wannabee with no cited credentials or reputation in the field he is talking about.
This is not scientific research, this is opinion and interpretation supported by some carefully selected observations of fact. There's nothing wrong with that, but its not science. It's more like psychiatry, theology, or literary criticism.
Economics is not physics. And until economists reach a degree of unanymity comparable to that of physicists, they cannot claim that mantle of scientific infallibility, or even consistency. And even physicists are far from unanimous in their opinions.
So you like this guy's research? Fine. Nothing wrong with that. What else have you got? 'Cause if he can't convince Krugman he's wrong, why should I pick one over the other? Not only do I not not know any economics, I have very little respect for the discipline.
