That state of affairs lasted two years of solid Democratic rule, until the Republicans blew the Democrats out of the House in 2010.
As for the Republican attitude about Obama, and "deliberate sabotage" (even assuming Draper is an accurate source), I have a very hard time believing that the Democrats in the House and Senate after Bush took office in January of 2001 were all about helping Bush carry out his programs and not obstructing him any way they could.
I dare say one could collect some interesting quotes from private meetings of Democratic politicians on the night of Bush's inauguration, too.
By the way, I wasn't talking about TARP either. Keep them straight.
