Re: Save us...the creationists are at it again.

"Creation science" belongs in the same category as crop circle science. It fails in the areas of logic, paleontology, astronomy, physics, and almost every other branch of science. A five-year old could punch holes in most of their concepts "Why DOES a whale have leg bones, Daddy?"

I rejected fundamentalist creationism quite early on in my youth, since the only logical conclusion one could reach given the available data was that if the Earth had been "created" in one fell swoop, it was deliberately designed by a masochistic God to make it look EXACTLY like it had evolved through natural processes and was billions of years old.

None of this would even be a political issue, of course, if schools were private and not subject to majority vote. Then if some parents wanted to send their kids to schools that taught that the Earth was 4000 years old, they could. They could also learn phlogiston chemistry if they wanted. Might make it a bit hard to get jobs as scientists later, but it is a free country.

Some liberals, of course, would call this "child abuse." Bull hockey. If kids learning crap in schools was harmful, there would be millions of deaths a year under our current education system. I don't see them complaining about kids learning Marxism in college.
