They cannot get it through their thick skulls that there is no power in the known Universe greater than the human mind. As proof, look what we already managed to do with Earth. The Universe has been working for pillions of years trying to form the planet into a benign entity orbiting a semi-active star. Everything was finally going well, then we showed up, changing the planet in ways the Universe could never come close to emulating. We've even decided to fool ourselves into believing there is absolutely no danger in all the unfathomable immensity of the Universe, because we created a Supreme Being fall-back.

You want God? Take a good, hard look in that mirror.

Given time, and control over personal "evolution," the properly applied human mind can easily accomplish any “miracle.”
