Conservatives ARE afraid to have blacks discuss slavery. With good reason.

Your post, for instance, chides them for remembering that slavery is a part of their past, their fairly recent past.

My guess is that you wouldn't chide Hispanics for discussing US immigration laws amongst themselves in a joint conference on immigration difficulties with the US, would you? Would make sense.

Or Slovaks for wanting to discuss some matters by themselves even at a conference on "European Unity".

But if it's blacks, they are being ridiculously racist. The racism, granted, is rampant, but it's the racism of the Lee's and the folks who agreed and laughed.

And, Tom, seriously. Saying it ain't true doesn't change reality. The world is round, no matter how much the Flatlanders protest.

Look at this particular issue, talking by themselves at a conference on racism, and the reaction. Racist. Wouldn't have done that with Republicans or Democrats in the US Congress, wouldn't have done that with Lutherns and Baptists at a ecumenical congress.

I will agree, people didn't intend it to be so blatant. I don't think people want to be racist. They just are. Look at the facts.
