What up wi' dat, eh?
I didn't buy the feelgood spin in the article's first paragraph: "tight security prevented incidents at major New Year's events"
Riiiiight...out of all the thousands of place people gathered by the thousands...the tens of thousands of places they gathered by the hundreds...the hundreds of thou...well, you see where I'm going with that.
Security didn't prevent terrorists from attacking. They didn't attack.
So what did (or didn't) happen?
It's also logically hard to accept that we've wiped out 100% of Al Qaeda, not to mention everybody else who has it in for us. I'm at a loss, but it's intriguing.
Could it be that "peace on Earth and good will toward men" carried the day?
Nahhhh.......
