Re: Should the military let the handy-cap join?
The military probably thinks disabled people are a liability, even people with sight disabilities. I'm sure you could have served in some way, but opening that can of worms would have created discriminating wars between disabled people who wanted to join. Setting physical standards to meet the many branches of the military is probably the best way all-around.
I could have joined the Army, but my mindset at the time (from hanging around too many Navy vets) resented the Army, foolishly I might add.
