But, I do feel that there are those so evil that they can never be allowed to live.... I fully accept the contradiction...

The fact is innocent people are on death row, no one with a brain and access to recent statistics could deny this...innocent people HAVE been executed... this is wrong.... and in itself it shows that the death penalty should be abolished...

But, when I read about child killers and rapists/murderers I want them dead....

How bout a compromise? Set that sick SOB Westerfield free... just announce "we will be releasing him on the corner of 1st and maple at 12:30 pm... we will then spend the next few hours at the donut shop and then call in the garbage trucks to pick up whats left...."

That would be nice, but as much as I want to see animals...no that is an insult to animals... as much as I want that creature to suffer and get the death penalty, I have to think of the innocent lives snuffed out by our system in our name....

Give the vile scum life in prison, let them think of what they have done.... let them have misery the rest of their lives.... but give the innocent a chance to be exonerated....

We are behind the rest of the world on this subject...

The govenor that commuted the death sentences was a Republican, but he demonstrated amazing moral courage... something far too rare on both sides...

He has my respect, and no matter how I felt about the death penalty, he would have my vote any time...

However you feel on the subject you HAVE to admit the guy is what we want in a politition... he did what he believed was right, when was the last time you saw a politician do that?

my 2 cents
