The usual suspects

<Nice try, but you're so way off base here, I detect that you are trying to sound like a Tom Brosz want-to-be here.

Not sure if you're complimenting us, insulting us, or both at the same time. I have to think about that one a while. Maybe I'm an SDAI wanna-be? ;)

Conservative children aren't born that way....they're raised that way. To protect daddy's money and keep it in the family, you have to act and THINK this way. Some bite and some don't. The ones that do get to play with daddy's money.....

Try and get out of the "conservatives are rich bastards" rut. It gets as irritating as any other stupid stereotype. Over fifty million people voted for Bush for President. They can't all be millionaires.

I realize it is an immense comfort to many of the losers of this world (saving yer ladyship's presence) to believe that no one who is successful could possibly have earned it fairly, but just because a belief is comfortable doesn't make it right.

You've got to drop these labels of yours "communist", "anti-capitalist", "leftist", because I'm getting tired of telling you off. You are NOT RIGHT you know. You have an opinion, and that's all it is. You are NOT RIGHT. (Got it yet?)

Uh, actually, he's right.

Most of the current anti-war movement has a solid socialist base, if not a Marxist one. Certainly you could not possible argue that they are not anti-capitalist. While many of the protestors themselves may not fall into these categories, the organizers certainly do. Sorry. I know you don't like to hear it. ANSWER is the outfit that largely organized all this. Check out their steering committee and list of endorsers here. Check out their list of links too. This is practically a "Who's Who" of the hard left in America and elsewhere. Believe me, I know who many of these guys are. I study this stuff. Many are even actually labeled as communist or socialist, while others are obviously so while only using the code words. "Anti-imperialism" being a favorite. There's every last stock character from the old days. Mumia. Peltier, for God's sake. They were bitching about him when I was in college.

This is all one big rat's nest of interlocking organizations. For a good time, do a Google search on ANSWER's New York phone number, 212-633-6646.

I don't know where their money comes from, but they seem to be burning a lot of it. Many of the donation links eventually wind up here, a 501(C)(3) non-profit outfit.

A list of donors would be quite enlightening, but I don't expect one to be made available. Cracking open Form 990 of the People's Rights Fund shows only five large donors in the year 2000:

$60,000
$74,000
$60,000
$25,000
$30,000

out of a total of about $400,000 income. The names of the donors are not given. The rest of the income is from smaller donors. If Iraqi money is drifting in here somehow, that would be really interesting.
