Judging by the record of history, I would say it's leftists that have trouble tolerating democratic institutions.
As usual, I'm speaking directly to those on this board and you target your response to Trotsky's followers. Gets old.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but a majority of Americans (about 60 percent at last count) agree with Bush and me, at least on Iraq.
Untrue. You and Bush want to invade whether or not the UN wants you to. Whether or not you have NATO support. Whether or not there are inspections going on. Whether or not there is disarmament going on. The American public does not "agree with" you. You know better.
What's really annoying is that once again, the Left gets a free pass in the Guilt By Association wars. The demonstrations are organized and financed by anti-American communists? So what? Most of the demonstrators aren't anti-American communists, so it apparently isn't relevant to you, the media, or other apologists for the demonstrators.
In case you aren't aware, the purpose of a demonstration is to make your view visibly apparent. The larger the group you can get, the more effective is your demonstration. *Everybody* who organizes these things reaches out to whoever they can get to show up. Sometimes it makes for strange bedfellows. My sister told me there were Libertarians in the crowd of the G5 demonstrations in the Pacific Northwest (was it in Seattle? can't remember). Does it mean something sinister about Libertarians (if true)? Heck no!
If a march for a conservative cause (pro-life for example) turned out to have been organized and funded by the neo-Nazi National Alliance, the headlines announcing this would be six inches high, and pundits would trample each other to death to denounce every last person in the march, down to the kids in the strollers. The fact that most of the marchers were not neo-Nazis would matter not a bit as they were all tarred and feathered by their association with the extremists.
Really unlikely scenario (everybody knows the real organizational wizards are the communists), but I think it would be duly noted by the news. Just as the news has made mention of the disparate groups involved in these demonstrations.
Hell, a conservative can get reamed for just entering the same Zip code as Bob Jones University.
And apparently, a liberal can get reamed for letting his name be mentioned in the same sentence as "Massachusetts". Mox nix.
