<Untrue. You and Bush want to invade whether or not the UN wants you to. Whether or not you have NATO support. Whether or not there are inspections going on. Whether or not there is disarmament going on. The American public does not "agree with" you. You know better.
Since when does the US bend to the whims of what the UN wants us to do? I keep seeing news reports about a vote on a "second resolution". Second? More like the 18th.
As for NATO, it consists of more than France and Germany. In case you didn't see the news a couple weeks ago, the leaders of 18 European nations have come out in support of US policy.
The current disarmament is nothing more than a cynical shell game designed to sucker the rubes. All it would take to destroy all of those missiles en masse would be to lay them on the ground and run over them with a bulldozer or tank. They could destroy 100 of them in minutes. Instead, they're dribbling this out a handful at a time.
As for polls, here's one dated yesterday from ABC News:
2. The Bush administration says it will move soon to disarm Iraq and remove Saddam Hussein from power, by war if necessary, working with countries that are willing to assist, even without the support of the United Nations. Overall, do you support or oppose this policy?
